**About the Role**
Reporting to and working closely with the Senior Leads Professor Andrew Pask of Colossal project and Dr Stephen Frankenberg of TIGGR project, the Business Manager will support and advise in the preparation, implementation and monitoring of strategic and operational initiatives and plans TIGGR and Colossal projects.
The Business Manager will provide high quality operational support for the rapidly growing TIGGR and Colossal projects. The Business Manager is responsible for building and managing the operational model required for the projects to deliver on its ambitious strategy and to support a complex, multi-stakeholder, interdisciplinary research ecosystem. The key areas of responsibility are financial management and reporting, research administration, project management systems and facilities management.
Responsibilities include:
- Accountable for all internal and external financial transactions and their documentation, including monitoring their execution
- Working closely with the Senior Leads, Strategy and Engagement, develop budget management and reporting processes and tools that streamline operations and support budget management and forecasting by the research and education teams
- Working with the Senior Leads co-ordinate and contribute to preparing reports for funders and stakeholders including annual reports
- Develop and maintain relationships with managers of schools and groups of the shared space, and contribute to shared efforts to maintain and improve the space
**About You**
You will have the ability to develop and align operational plans and establish and implement procedures and initiatives to enable delivery of plans. You will adapt to new situations, and deliver positive, innovative solutions to operational issues and be able to effectively deliver high quality, professional and timely services within budget and to prioritise workloads. You will have excellent planning and project delivery skills as well as analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.
You will also have:
- A postgraduate graduate qualification or progress towards graduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience or extensive experience and management expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or training
- High level interpersonal and communication skills, including a proven capacity to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to exercise judgement, make difficult recommendations and decisions
- Demonstrated understanding of the higher education environment including its strategic direction
