**About the Company**
This company is one of the world's leading independent producers of exclusively renewable energy. They are known throughout the industry for the development, construction and operation of high quality renewable generation assets. Having a large portfolio of works with a focus on wind, solar PV and BESS projects this developer are looking to build a best in class team to support this large influx of work.
**About the role**
Based in Sydney, you will manage the implementation of a safety first culture and robust HSE policies and systems for renewable energy projects throughout Australia. This will be a strategic HSE Manager position, where you will coordinate between head office and site, implementing global HSE procedures for pre-existing and up and coming projects.
You will ensure that all direct staff, sub contractors and suppliers adhere to strict HSE procedures and will cultivate a safety first culture on site. You will also ensure that policies and procedures facilitate productive sites rather than becoming barriers for site based staff.
**Duties**
- Ensure group standards, procedures and technical annexes are included within EPC & O&M contracts during negotiation
- Assess and propose amendments of key HSE governance if and when required
- Manage and improve pre-existing HSE Management Systems and Procedures
- Coordinating and collaborating with key stakeholders and global offices from an HSE perspective
- Interfacing effectively between head office and key projects across Australia
- Projects execution (Review EPC and O&M Contractors HSE plans, Set up and review of appropriate HSE audits)
**Skills and Experience**

**Essential**:
- Technical expertise of HSE matters in both an advisory role, as well as during their actual implementation on large investment projects
- Successful experience in the development and implementation of practical HSE related management procedures and systems
- Strong HSE background as an advisor, Management System contributor within the IFC performance Standard framework
- Solid knowledge of OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001 / ISO 14001, Australia WHS Act, Regulations and Codes of Practice, as well as IFC Performance Standards and Equator principles
- Experience of Environment risk management of large industrial projects impact
- Comfortability travelling to and from site
**Desirable**
- Strong leadership, communication teaching and negotiation skills
- Autonomy
- Minimum number of years of experience: 10 years
- Renewable Energy experience highly desirable yet not essential
- Languages: English (mandatory), French or Spanish (a plus)
