Child Care Director Before and After School Care

**About the Service**

Bondi BASC is a Non For Profit Community based, Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) service that provides Before School, After School & Vacation Care Programs for up to 200 children per day. Bondi BASC has been running for 25 years and has a consistent devoted team of educators who are committed to creating a high-quality service where children and their families feel that they belong, a home away from home.

Bondi BASC is seeking to employ a Director to lead our amazing team of 27 Educators. The New Director will be supported by our large Leadership Team which consists of a Managing Director, Current Director (during the training process), Coordinator, Two Educational Leaders, WHS Officer, Admin Manager, Health and Nutrition Coordinator and Inclusion Support Officer. We are looking for an enthusiastic, driven, organised and flexible person who will lead with kindness and respect. Additionally, we would like someone who will remain with the service long-term, promoting a strong sense of community and positive culture.

**Position Objective**: Responsible for managing the day to day operation of Bondi Before and After School Care. To ensure implementation and compliance with the National Quality Framework (NQF), which encompasses the Education and Care Services National Law, Regulations and the National Quality Standards. Additionally, compliance with the framework for school-aged care, My Time, Our Place in junction with management.

The Successful applicant will be mentored by the current Coordinator, Director and Managing Director for a 6 month period to ensure they are comfortable and confident before stepping into the Position as Director and Nominated Supervisor.

**Essential Criteria**
- Diploma in School Age Education and Care or equivalent
- Minimum of three years experience in OSHC
- Available to work 38 hours per week
- Current Working with Children Check
- Child Protection qualification
- Management Experience
- First Aid Certificate
- Thorough understanding of the National Quality Framework: My Time, Our Place Learning Framework, The National Quality Standards and Law & Regulations.
- Experience with Qik kids’ childcare software
- Effective communicator with highly developed leadership and interpersonal skills
- A talent for engaging others and building a positive culture and a willingness to learn

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Manage the day to day operations of the service in line with the NQF and as directed by management
- Monitor and contribute to the development of the Quality improvement plan (QIP). Review and revises the QIP as required by the regulations - Regulation 55-56
- Oversee the assessment and rating visit by the Regulatory Authority
- Ensure use of the premises adheres to any lease or license that is in place
- Keep up to date with all relevant legislation and communicate any changes to management and educators.
- Ensure compliance with service policies and procedures. Develop and evaluate policies and procedures in collaboration with Management.
- Ensure procedures are in place to ensure that all educators and other staff comply with the service's policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the development of the annual budget and manage expenditure in line with the agreed budget.
- Participate in workshops, forums and other educational opportunities as necessary to increase personal knowledge, keep up to date with industry trends and share this knowledge with the educators and management where appropriate.
- Meet with the BASC Parent Committee each term and provide a detailed report of current and future activities and issues.
- Interview and recommend the appointment of new staff in consultation with management. Maintain a casual staff list.
- Ensure annual performance reviews are conducted for all permanent educators and individual training and development plans are created and maintained.
- Ensure compliance with the service's Work, Health & Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Work with the Educational Leaders to provide educators with guidance, written instruction and resources to develop, plan and implement quality programs for children that meet their physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs and which comply with the Framework for School Age Care - My Time Our Place.

**Salary**: $43.79 - $45.15 per hour
