**About General Medicine department**:
General Medicine is part of the Medical and Cancer Services Division. The unit has 68 inpatient beds and has admissions into the Emergency Medical and Short Stay Unit, both located in the Emergency Department.

The Department of General Medicine is a large clinical unit providing an inpatient, outpatient and consultancy service.

The Department of General Medicine also has an important role in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and is closely affiliated with The University of Melbourne.

**About the role**

The Physician Training Program Education Officer is a role that will support the Basic Physician Training program at Austin Health. The role will work together with the Central Northwest Consortium Manager, The Directors of Physician Training, Junior Medical Workforce Unit and RACP to support the provision of the BPT program at Austin Health.

A regular day will see you:

- Tracking rotations, progression, training requirements, and amendment forms
- Tracking mandatory training and ALS training.
- Trainees point of contact for wellbeing, RACP training requirements
- Assist in recruitment of BPTs
- Assist in roster build and coordination of BPTs rosters to meet training needs
