A new opportunity has arisen to join a project team which will significantly influence and lead delivery of the Melbourne 2050 Vision and Council Plan program. As the Melbourne 2050 Strategy Lead, you will be responsible for guiding the work stream to develop and implement the Melbourne 2050 Vision within the program. Collaborating with the Council Plan Program team and the broader organisation, you will ensure effective and collaborative execution.

In your role as a trusted advisor, you will engage cross-functionally with key decision-makers, both internally and externally. You will collaborate closely with Councillors, the Executive Leadership Team, and the other senior stakeholders, navigating ambiguity and adapting to changing priorities as needed. This is a fixed term opportunity until 31 October 2025.

**You will..**
- Bring your extensive expertise in strategic planning and execution to drive the development of the Melbourne 2050 Vision, while also supporting the development of the Council Plan and Corporate Strategy
- You will enable Councillors, the organisation, community and stakeholders to develop, communicate and execute strategic initiatives utilising a systems-thinking approach
- Proactively identify and manage potential risks with appropriate mitigation strategies to ensure alignment with organisational goals
- Develop and maintain productive strategic relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, effectively negotiating and influencing outcomes that align with the organisations strategic objectives and foster improved collaboration and alignment
- Plan and coordinate communication and engagement with community and stakeholders to ensure understanding of the Melbourne 2050 Vision and Council Plan, is well understood, milestones are met, and performance of financial targets are achieved.
- Collaborate with Councillors, senior leadership and cross-functional teams to support the ongoing development with the Melbourne 2050 Vision

**What you will bring to the role**
- Extensive experience in strategic planning, business management, or a related field
- Strong strategic and analytical thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make strategic recommendations
- Excellent relationship building ability and stakeholder management skills with the ability to deal with a diverse range of stakeholders with a broad range of expectations and needs can be of a competing nature.
- Proven ability to collaborate and work as an effective team, member, including high level engagement with stakeholders ensuring high level performance and effective outcomes
- High-level written, graphic and verbal communication and facilitation skills with the ability to convey and effectively impart strategic objectives, project information and negotiate and influence outcomes
- Ability to think critically and act with foresight to manage multiple priorities within and fast paced and complex environment
- A comprehensive understanding of City of Melbourne, organisational ways of working and council requirements
