**About the client**:
knowmore was established in 2013 as a national, independent community legal service to provide free legal advice and information to people about the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse. Today, know more works to help survivors of institutional sexual abuse navigate the National Redress Scheme. This includes free legal advice, assistance, information, and referral for survivors of institutional child sexual abuse.
knowmore’s services are provided from a national network of offices currently located in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney.
**Role Summary**:
As the National Human Resources Manager, you will report directly to the Corporate Services Director, work closely with the Executive Team and interstate Line Managers.
You will lead a generalist portfolio and manage, coach, and motivate a direct report. The National HR Manager will business partner with the Executive Team and national department heads. You will drive knowmore’s workforce planning, employee lifecycle, and have a focus on learning and development.
In this role you will have highly developed communications and be able to build strong relationships across a wide variety of stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Work closely and mentor a direct report who will support daily HR activities
- Provide HR advice across the organization in keeping with best practice and current legislation
- Ensure consistent implementation of policies and practices, reviewing and updating as required, to support a healthy working environment
- Lead and participate in HR projects as required by the Corporate Services Director and the Executive Team - such as reviewing organisational structure, the EVP, recruitment and selection and the employee lifecycle, and being a champion of change within the organisation
- Coordinate ongoing induction and handover activities (supervise management of employment records, ensuring compliance and confidentiality)
- Identify and provide essential training and professional development opportunities internally or via external providers to support the growth and currency of our staff’s skills set
**Essential criteria**:
- Previous experience in a generalist, high level HR role overseeing a multi-disciplinary organisation is essential
- Strong knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements as well as robust experience with IR/ER
- Proven experience in creating an HR infrastructure and embedding it into an organisation
- The ability to build strong and effective working relationships across a variety of managers and external suppliers, face to face and virtually
- Demonstrated initiative, analytical, and problem-solving skills and a proactive approach towards identifying issues and implementing solutions
- Ability to work proactively in addressing urgent priorities while maintain a strategic and project mindset to support long-term organisational goals
- Demonstrated commitment to social justice, with resilience and a client-focused approach
