**The Role: Sales and Business Development Manager**
We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead the growth of our cutting-edge Simulation, Training, and Avionics solutions across the defence and civil sectors in Australia and New Zealand. This is your opportunity to shape Thales' market presence, engaging with high-profile defence and aviation stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions. Based in Canberra or Sydney, you’ll be at the heart of an innovative, global organization making a real difference.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Drive Growth**: Achieve ambitious portfolio targets and lead strategic opportunity captures. Identify and drive business opportunities; including with new customers, new products or services, and new partnerships.
- Ensure financial metrics for region are achieved. Develop 2-5 year strategic plans in collaboration with Head of BD, with sound execution strategies that are measurable.
- ** Analyse Markets**: Identify trends and emerging opportunities through market research, networking and attendance at industry events. Develop and implement strategies and plans to successfully reach new opportunities.
- ** Engage Stakeholders**: Build trust with external customer and partners in defence and civil aviation leaders, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions.
- ** Lead Business Development**: Manage forecasts, optimize CRM systems, and contribute to strategic sales and marketing plans.
**Your Skills**:
- A degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field.
- Proven success in senior sales roles within defence, aviation, or related sectors.
- Expertise in market analysis, strategy development, and stakeholder engagement.
- Outstanding communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
