JOB TITLE: Disability Support Worker

**JOB DESCRIPTION**: The Disability Support Worker is responsible for implementing training and support services aimed at maximizing the living, employment, social and recreational skills of people with a disability, community inclusion, independence, decision making and personal choice should be promoted through these supports, with a focus on individual needs.

**TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT**: Casual

**REPORT TO**: Disability Service Manager

**LOCATION**: WA

**MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES**: Providing care and support to clients in line with their personalized care plans, including:

- Personal tasks
- Domestic assistance
- Community access
- Social support
- Transport
- Meal preparation
- Group participation
- Life skills development

**QUALIFICATIONS** /

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Minimum of Cert III in Individual Support, Mental Health, Aged Care, Community Services, Disability Worker or similar
- Current WWCC, Blue/Yellow Card, Police Check and First Aid/CPR
- Driver’s License
- Reliable and comprehensively insured vehicle
- Smart phone

**EXPERIENCE**:

- **Minimum of 6 months relevant experience**:

- Experience in supporting people with disability
- Demonstrated continuing professional development
- Knowledge of continuous quality improvement principles

**SKILLS**:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build rapport and trust with clients
- Strong time management and ability to prioritize
- Ability to use Microsoft Office suite of programs and other computer systems for record keeping
- Excellent problem solving and conflict management skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and maintain good working relationships

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $28.00 - $38.00 per hour

- First Aid Certification (preferred)
