**The Position**

**St John of God Mt Lawley** is a 205 bed private hospital located on the banks of the Swan River. We are a major provider of Rehabilitation and surgical services across Western Australia. We have vast experience delivering inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation to both public and private patients. Our services are supported by a team of experienced leaders, nurses, allied health and medical caregivers.
- We are seeking an experienced and passionate
- **Deputy Director of Nursing - Surgical, Procedural & Obstetric Services **to join our Nursing Leadership team.
- As
- **DDON, **you will be responsible for optimising patient safety, quality of care and experience, operational efficiency and achievement of the strategic objectives of the Directorate.
- You will also be responsible for:

- Overseeing and assisting in preparing annual capital and operating budgets for the nursing directorate, ensuring financial and productivity targets are met
- Investigating any variances in financial performance against budget and develop appropriate corrective strategies
- Monitoring compliance with clinical practice standards
- Leading and directing in the implementation and review of quality and clinical risk management programs
- Knowledge and understanding of case-mix systems, and knowledge of contemporary health issues and the health industry is highly regarded._
- This position is on a Permanent Full time basis, working 76 hours per fortnight.

- Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
- Postgraduate qualifications in Nursing or relevant discipline, or progression towards.
- Extensive contemporary management leadership experience in a Senior Nursing position in an Acute Hospital Facility.
- Experience in setting, monitoring and meeting budgeted financial and annual operational targets and benchmarks.
- Demonstrated ability to foster a positive service orientated culture that encourages sound patient care and stewardship, focusing on innovation and productivity improvements.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with nursing teams, medical practitioners and other key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated skills and acumen in leading change management
- Proven ability to exercise sound judgement in clinical, management and ethical issues.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage risks, balance competing priorities and deliver within expected timeframes.
