**Who are we looking for?**

Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is seeking a Associate Lecturer / Lecturer in Transdisciplinary Design to join School of Design, Faculty of Creative Industries, Education and Social Justice, Academic Division.

With rollout of the new Impact Lab units now complete, underway, once full development and delivery of all four units is realised, each semester will sees the concurrent delivery of all four Impact Labs with c.1500 students taking Impact Lab units at any one time. This includes working with more than 10 external partners at any one time. These units require re is a critical need to establish a core team of academic staff dedicated to the ongoing development, delivery, evaluation and dissemination of Impact Lab units. Academics working on Impact Labs will be expected to work in partnership with each other, with the ability to move seamlessly between the Labs as co-teachers, thereby maximising linkages, best practice teaching approaches and students’ experiences of the Labs. The successful appointee will need to have a strong interest in both transdisciplinary design education, as well as its potential to effect change for good by design, with a deep appreciation of the impact designers may have on others and the world. This will include a comprehension for Impact Labs as an educational concept (detailed above/below). The Impact Labs include an ongoing external engagement component related to community and industry partners, as well as a large sessional staff complement, and you will need to have experience in working with a broad range of people. In conjunction with learning and teaching, as well as external engagement, the position requires leadership in transdisciplinary research related to Impact Lab and School of Design core themes and aims. As an Associate Lecturer/Lecturer, the successful applicant will also provide leadership in service to the University and engagement with industry, the community, professional associations, alumni and other stakeholders.
