Thales Australia is a premier provider of defence and commercial products, solutions and services. The Explosive Ordnance (EO) Services team provide logistics services to the Department of Defence in an ongoing contractual agreement that incorporates over 300 members of staff across 17 sites in Australia.

**Responsibilities**
- Identify reactive maintenance requirements through the conduct of day to day activities and monthly EO Facility Inspections.
- Liaise proactively with Ventia Works Coordinators and contractors to closely coordinate and supervise maintenance work and contractors
- Conduct general housekeeping of EO and related EO facilities.
- Conduct EO facilities inspections.
- Prepare, submit, monitor and follow-up Base Services Requests for EO facilities
- Technical and Logistics support
- Routine reactive maintenance should be scheduled into the monthly dedicated preventative maintenance week
- Complete monthly assurance tasks to maintain compliance with Defence and DST policy and regulations.
- Raise Service Requests for unplanned maintenance/repairs
- Implementation of appropriate occupational health and safety policies and procedures in the workplace.
- Support the disposal of EO on Defence ranges.
- Ensure compliance with legislative requirements.

**Essential Skills**
- Completed training/demonstrated competence in 36 units of AQF Level IV Certificate or the ability to obtain.
- Warehousing experience
- Experience as an Explosive Ordnance Driver for the transport of EO
- Familiarity with EO road/air movement procedures, administration and paperwork.
- Knowledge and Experience of EO Facilities Inspections and EO stock checks.
- Experience in EO stock control tasks (including but not limited to issuing and receiving of EO)

**SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS**
- Must be an Australian citizen.
- Must be able to obtain Defence Security Clearance to Negative Vetting Level 2 (Top Secret).
- Ability to complete and obtain a pass on the Controlled Document Course.
- Ability to travel intrastate and interstate.
- May be required to work at other sites as agreed between the parties.
- Ability to perform frequent lifting tasks in a safe manner.
- Ability to work at PC for extended periods.
- Hold a current Medium Ridge (or larger) & Forklift Licence.
- Must hold a car drivers’ licence.
- Colour perception (industry standard).
- May be required to work additional hours.

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**
- Ability to perform frequent lifting tasks in a safe manner
- Frequent sitting, standing walking on even/uneven ground, back flexion and rotation climbing into a vehicle driving seat (truck and forklift).
- Occasional overhead reach. heavy pushing and pulling
- Colour perception (industry standard).
- Hearing must be within acceptable limits for DG truck driving tasks.
