**About the Role**
BOQ Group is looking for an experienced Events Manager to join us on a 12-month Max Term Contract.
The Event Manager is accountable for the delivery of sponsorship activations and events across all business brands, driving awareness, consideration and acquisition across direct and broker channels. These events are a key driver of leads to the business, with a high volume of events driving significant leads and business results.
Events include industry and broker events, conferences, trade stands and awards events.
**Planning, organising, managing and delivering a calendar of activations and events in line with the business’ strategy**
- Work alongside the State Managers and their Sales teams to understand their objectives and develop sponsorship and events plans aligned to this.
- Accountability for each event end-to-end (including contract negotiation, stakeholder engagement, marketing deliverables, event logistics, freight, activation, pre and post-event communications).
- Work with the Product and Product Marketing teams to ensure that sponsorship and event activities are aligned with both product and campaign priorities.
- Maintain and be accountable for event budgets, as well as providing regular reporting on overall events spend.
- Manage the metrics and reporting for sponsorship and event activity as well delivering regular reporting on overall events lead generation.
**Build stakeholder relationships**
- Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders across BOQ Business
- Regularly communicate with these stakeholders and report back regarding their calendar of events, overall events budget and lead generation, as well as new opportunities.
- Attend Sales Meetings and Sales Strategy days to present and participate, where required.
- Build relationships with our key national association partners (e.g. AVA and RACGP) and work closely with them to execute our agreements and deliver key events.
- Work closely with key industry partners to develop and deliver a calendar of bespoke events, (e.g. educational seminars and information roadshows).
**About you**
You will have strong experience in event management, with a solid track record of delivering successful events. While a tertiary qualification in marketing, events, or a related field is desirable, it’s not strictly necessary. It’s important to have a strong knowledge of the events industry, and ideally, some understanding of the financial services industry as well.
Excellent interpersonal skills are a must, along with demonstrated experience in building and maintaining successful relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. You’ll need outstanding communication and negotiation skills, both verbal and written.
Being exceptionally organised and having great time management skills are crucial. High attention to detail and strong analytical abilities are also important. You should be able to multi-task and manage multiple projects effectively and accurately, even under pressure and tight deadlines.
A problem-solving mindset with a flexible and adaptable approach is key. You should be a self-starter who is highly motivated and passionate about delivering positive business and client outcomes. Creativity and a flair for identifying new opportunities are highly valued.
