**Research Informatics & Innovation Specialist (12-month contract)**

We are seeking to appoint a Research Informatics & Innovation Specialist to join a high-performing multidisciplinary team of business intelligence and analytic specialists at Western Health. Embedded within the Performance Unit and with the support of the Office of Research within WH and the Centre of Digital Transformation of Health at the University of Melbourne, this newly created role will be responsible for establishing a research databank containing COVID-19 patient data for clinical research and informing Western Health’s pandemic response plan. This will be a 12-month position in the first instance with the opportunity to extend into an ongoing role.

To be Successful in this Role you will have:

- Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Statistics/Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science or related discipline
- Proficiency in coding and data wrangling using appropriate computer language such as SQL or Python
- Experience with extract, transform and loading (ETL) data from multiple data sources into a central Data Warehouse
- Exposure to working with Cerner Millennium Electronic Medical Record data will be highly regarded

**Duties**:

- Facilitate and lead the integration of COVID-19 patient data from multiple data sources into existing MaP Data Warehouse to establish a draft research databank
- Collaborate with the University of Melbourne team to validate workflows and codes used to generate the research databank
- Evaluate the draft research databank for quality and completeness
- Create and maintain documentation to assist with on-going support of the research databank
