The purpose of this role

Managing and leading the organisation's information protection program, while working closely with cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive security program to protect the organization's sensitive information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, or destruction. This involves working with the data governance function to ensure appropriate information protection policies are defined and the supporting security and governance controls in place. This covers domains such as information classification, data loss prevention, data retention and data protection (backup/recovery).

What you will be doing in this role
- Develop and implement a comprehensive information protection program that includes policies, procedures, and guidelines for protecting sensitive information.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify and prioritize information assets and associated risks.
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks and protect sensitive information.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to information protection.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors, and develop strategies to proactively defend against them.
- Develop and deliver security awareness and training programs to educate employees on information protection policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance and support to other teams as needed on security-related matters.
- Develop and maintain security metrics and reporting related to information protection.

What are we looking for in you?
- Significant experience in cyber security, with a focus on information protection.
- Strong knowledge of security principles, concepts, and technologies related to information protection.
- Familiarity with industry standard security frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS, ISO) and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
