Our team is growing and we are looking for an experienced **EHS Specialist - Environmentalist **to join our team of dedicated EHS professional based in our Brisbane region supporting our Australia wide operations.
**Responsibilities will include**:
- Supporting sites and Programs to ensure environmental risks are identified and mitigated
- Support internal customers and Programs on Environmental processes, issues and regulatory compliance
- Partnering with stakeholders to develop and implement environmental strategies and programs which facilitate continuous improvement with a particular focus on key business risks such as hazardous waste, environmental compliance, NGERs and greenhouse gases
- Develop, implement and maintain environment systems to support the needs of the business
- Coordinate the development and maintenance of Environmental Health and Safety Management Plan’s in accordance with company requirements and international Environmental and Health & Safety standards.
- Support our sustainability initiatives.
- Evaluate environmental workplace hazards;
- Supporting investigations on environmental related events and provide corrective action recommendations to prevent reoccurrence
- Perform environment audits
- Provide input to new business opportunities and facilities projects to ensure risks are mitigated;
- Conduct environmental education and training to support regulatory and business requirements;
- Evaluate impact of new regulations on company operations.

**You will need to have**:
- Tertiary qualifications in Environment, Health & Safety or a related discipline
- Five years or more relevant experience in environmental management
- Extensive knowledge of relevant Environmental legislation and regulations
- Experience related to risk and compliance management
- Lead audit qualifications
- Investigation credentials
- Effective and demonstrated stakeholder management skills with the ability to network and negotiate with as well as influence at all levels
- Strong verbal and written skills, with the ability to prepare engaging communications, documentation, and reports
- A solution focused and analytical approach to problem solving, including providing quality strategic and operational advice and customer service.
- Proven capability to work positively in a team environment and autonomously where required.
- Demonstrable working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and ISO14001/45001
