Community Recycling Centre Operator

We are looking for a passionate and hardworking **Community Recycling Centre Operator** to join our team at Singleton Council. **THE ROLE**

In your role you will contribute to important community outcomes and making a real impact for Singleton. The natural diversity of your role means that every day will be different. This position’s function is to provide customer support to the disposal of household levels of recyclables at the Community Recycling Centre. The position will also be required to operate the recycling shop, collection of illegal dumping and carry out general site and equipment maintenance. This position ensures that the disposal of household quantities of recyclables is undertaken in accordance with Council’s Community Recycling Centre Management Plan.

**ESSENTIAL CRITERIA**
- Strong customer service focus with the ability to work under mínimal supervision.
- Sound knowledge and awareness of WHS practices.
- Basic numeracy, literacy and computer skills.
- Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills with the ability to resolve problems.
- An ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- High risk work license - Forklift (LF).
- WorkCover NSW Construction Induction Card (white card).
- Current NSW drivers licence - minimum Class C
- First Aid Certificate

It would be advantageous, but not essential to have:

- Experience in weighbridge operations
- Certificate III in Waste Management
- Certificate III in Retail Operations

This position is offered on a **permanent fulltime** basis working a 7-day rotating roster totaling 76 hours per fortnight.

Remuneration for this position is based on **5 **of the salary system which equates to a base salary between **$2414.01 and $2661.45 **per fortnight including shift penalties plus award allowances and superannuation. Additional benefits include 5 weeks accrued annual leave per year.
