**About your new role**
We are looking for an experienced, motivated and high performing Head of Financial Crime Policy and Risk Assessment to lead our Line 2 Financial Crime Policy and Risk Assessments function. This role reports to the General Manager, Financial Crime and can be based in Sydney, Brisbane or Gold Coast. This role will lead the enhancement of The Star’s financial crime policy frameworks, including the AML/CTF Program, and financial crime risk assessment methodologies.
- Define, document and maintain the TSEG Financial Crime policy architecture including the The Star’s Joint AML/CTF Program, and related policies and standards.
- Define, document and maintain the TSEG Financial Crime Risk Assessment methodologies for customer risk assessment, jurisdiction risk assessment, product and channel risk assessment and enterprise wide risk assessment.
- Establish and maintain a review and approval schedule for key policy documentation, and risk assessment methodologies, including the submission of papers to The Star’s Board and key governance forums.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process enhancements, innovation, and the use of best practice approaches to drive continuous improvement.
- Promote and strengthen a Financial Crime risk awareness culture.

**To be successful in this role you will have**:
- At least 10 years’ experience in a financial crime policy, assurance, compliance, or risk management role in a casino / gaming or wagering environment, bank, corporation, or government agency.
- Extensive experience in drafting Financial Crime Policy, drafting AML/CTF Programs and related policy frameworks is essential.
- A deep understanding of AML/CTF, anti-bribery & corruption and sanctions legislation and regulations.
- Demonstrated success in managing and influencing a financial crime team.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and the ability to delivery projects in a timely manner whilst overcoming hurdles and complex issues.
- Previous experience within the Casino or Banking industry is advantageous.
