**About the role**

Support our Aged Care clients to remain living independently in their own homes by providing essential domestic assistance and personal care support in and around the Geelong area. As a Home & Community Assistant, you will be directly involved in delivering services to clients, while also contributing to the growth of Life Without Barriers (LWB) through local marketing of our services.

This role offers a permanent part-time position with 30 hours per week. You’ll work between 8:30am and 5:00pm, assisting various clients throughout the day. Flexibility in your schedule is available, and you must be willing to travel and drive approximately 30-40 minutes within and around the Geelong area.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Domestic assistance such as meal preparation and light cleaning
- Personal Care including grooming and showering
- Community access to medical appointments and social activities
- Assistance with tasks and routines outlined by an approved medical professional
- Build rapport and collaborate effectively with clients to establish positive relationships
- Engage in additional tasks to support LWB’s growth, including local marketing of services.

**Skills & Experience**
- A current First Aid Certificate and CPR Certification
- An Australian Driver’s Licence and ownership of a registered vehicle with comprehensive car insurance
- Certificate III in Individual Support or other relevant qualification and experience (preferred)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships
- Passionate about making a positive impact in our ageing community
- To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. You will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination status during the recruitment process_
