**The Core Capability Requirements for this role are**:

- Act as a legal practitioner for the Queensland Police Service.
- Provide legal advice to the Senior Executive concerning substantive law.
- Maintain and comply with the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct.
- Process and manage legal requests for disclosure served on the Commissioner of Police
- Provide legal advice and assistance on statutory release mechanisms.
- Represent the Service in courts of law in the production of documents and arguments on privilege and sensitive matters.
- Supervision and staff performance management, as required.

**Role Requirements**:
Mandatory
- Possession of a degree in law from a recognised tertiary institution, or equivalent qualifications. Admission or eligibility for immediate admission as a legal practitioner of the Supreme Court of Queensland and enrolment, or eligibility for enrolment, to practice in the Federal and High Courts of Australia.
