A market-leading cyber underwriting agency - Emergence, is presently seeking a fulltime Senior Underwriter / Product Leader to join its team in Sydney. Reporting to the National Underwriting Manager with a Sydney CBD office location, this is an exciting opportunity in underwriting cyber risk and being part of a growing and dynamic underwriting agency.

**The Role**

Emergence is developing a new product - Tech E&O (IT Liability) to either stand alone or complement our array of cyber products. The role will allow you to lead the development of the product. Areas include policy wording, pricing, distribution, technology, marketing and training. You will be supported by the team along the way.

You will have the overall responsibility for underwriting accounts in Australia and
New Zealand, ensuring that operational and financial performance, along with sales and retention targets are met. This role also gives you exposure to cyber
underwriting and allows you to provide input into the national underwriting strategy.

**Responsibilities**
- Lead the Tech E&O product development and be actively involved in other projects dealing with innovation for business;
- Develop Tech E&O underwriting guidelines and underwriting authorities;
- Ensuring all opportunities are documented and managed in a proactive and accurate manner;
- Review and underwrite new business submissions and maintain a renewal book of policies in accordance with guidelines and authorities;
- Handle referrals and articulating risk to Lead Underwriters as required;
- Work collaboratively in a team environment, with underwriters, assistants, managers, legal, and actuarial.
- Promote the Emergence Tech E&O product; Support Marketing and Business
- Development Underwriters in the field as needed;
- Proactively liaising with brokers, claim handlers, and legal counsel.
- Provide guidance and seek input from others as needed to achieve the best result possible;
- Ensure regular internal reporting on important markets, clients, and product related developments. Proactively communicate market intelligence.

**Skills and Competencies**

Working with a team of motivated and committed individuals, you will possess:

- 3 - 5 years experience writing tech E&O and / or cyber;
- Demonstrated high level of organisational and time management skills;
- Strong communicator: Proven verbal and written communication, collaboration, presentation and influencing skills. Able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders;
- Results oriented: Approach tasks proactively.
- Strong service ethic with the ability to take initiative and to work independently;
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant class of business (desired)
