Headland Montessori ELC is located in Manly North Head National Park and we provide Long Day Care for children aged 12 weeks to 6 years. We take pride in providing a Montessori long day care program that inspires children for a lifelong love for learning.

Since opening in 2012, Headland remained as a family run centre where owner and management work closely to support our wonderful staff. **About the role**

We are seeking an enthusiastic _child educator_ for an assistant role in one of our preschool rooms. It is a full time position and available immediately. Montessori experience is preferable.
- Tasks and Duties:_
- Support the implementation of a Montessori-inspired program that nurtures each child's natural curiosity, independence and love for learning
- Assist with the setup, presentation and maintenance of age-appropriate learning environments and Montessori materials
- Engage with children in meaningful experiences that promote their emotional, cognitive, social and physical development
- Collaborate with lead educators to plan, deliver and reflect on daily activities and learning experiences aligned with the EYLF and Montessori principles
- Observe and respond to children’s interests, needs and behaviours in a respectful and supportive manner
- Assist with maintaining daily routines including meal times, rest periods, toileting and transitions, ensuring a calm and consistent environment
- Maintain a high standard of hygiene, safety and supervision at all times in accordance with regulatory and centre policies
- Establish and maintain warm, respectful and professional relationships with children, families and colleagues
- Support the documentation of children’s learning and development through written observations and digital platforms, where required
- Contribute to a positive team culture by attending staff meetings, participating in professional development, and sharing reflective practice
- Assist with general housekeeping and organisation of the learning environment to ensure a clean, inviting and orderly classroom

**About You**
- Australian citizen or permanent resident
- Certificate 3 or Diploma in Childcare (or currently studying towards)
- Willingness to learn more about the Montessori Philosophy is essential
- 1-2 years of experience working with children aged 0-6 years
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificate (desirable)
- Working knowledge and understanding of the EYLF, NQS/NQF
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Confidence in using technology and computer literacy
- The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- A passion and commitment to early childhood education
