The Mental Health Commission NSW is seeking interested applicants for the position of Corporate Services Officer within the Directorate of Operations and Engagement. This is an exciting opportunity to join a small fast paced team that is committed to providing a high standard of operational and corporate governance support to ensure the Commission achieves its required statutory functions and policy obligations.
The Commission is a small agency of about 30 FTE based in the Sydney CBD and working flexibly within hybrid workplace guidelines.
**Role of Mental Health Commission NSW**

**Role of Directorate Operations and Engagement**
The Directorate of Operations and Engagement undertakes a range of functions including corporate governance, business operations, human resources, finance, procurement, stakeholder engagement and communications.
**Primary Purpose of the Role**
The Corporate Services Officer supports the Manager Corporate Services with the delivery of a range of services relating to the operations of the Mental Health Commission NSW. These services include facility management, records management, ICT, HR support, budget planning, business operations, continuous quality improvement projects, operational risk management, procurement and contract management.
**Key Accountabilities**
- Support the Manager Corporate Services with the delivery of a range of corporate services including budgets and operating expenditure reports, business operations and procurement, contract management, ICT, HR support, and facility management.
- Coordinate workforce services including recruitment, induction of new staff, workplace health and safety, and other workforce related functions.
- Develop collaborative and productive service relationships with HealthShare and eHealth who provide shared corporate services.
- Coordinate implementation and continuous improvement in records management
- Assist with developing budget plans and monitoring operational expenditure and procurement processes
- Monitor and report on any emerging operational risks and incidents, including maintenance of an operational risk register, as well as contribution to identifying potential solutions and preventative actions.
- Develop and implement operational procedures to support efficient outcomes
- Promote a service focused culture based on continuous improvement, shared values and teamwork
- Build strong positive relationships internally within the Commission as well as externally with key stakeholders
**Key Challenges**
- Managing internal customer service relationships with competing timelines, deliverables and workflows
- Working collaboratively and efficiently with external service providers
- Priortising tasks given multiple stakeholders and inflexible timelines
- Access to relevant data and ICT software tools
- Identification and presentation of data that can be used to inform management strategy
- Effective working relationships and communication in the context of hybrid working.
**Essential Requirements**
- Qualifications or demonstrated equivalent professional knowledge, skills and experience in operational management including workforce, budgeting and financial management, facility management, procurement or related functions.
