The Internal Audit & Compliance Manager role will report to the CFO and will be a key position within the Corporate Thales Australia finance function. The purpose of the position is to provide independent assurance to the Risk and Compliance Audit Committee and the CEO that appropriate risk management control and governance processes are in place.

**RESPONSIBILITIES **(Key accountabilities and responsibilities)**
- Develop policies, process and structure to deliver a sound system of risk management and internal compliance & control relating to financial and other specified risks.
- Review, coordinate and improve the internal control environment through use of the Internal Control Questionnaire (ICQ).
- Develop and deliver an Internal Audit plan that supports the business in identifying and managing risks.
- Governance audits (security, ethics, disaster recovery planning, export controls)
- Operational audits (bids, supply chain, programs) - Financial audits (expenses review, fraud, supplier payments, payroll)
- Provide training, education and support on business improvement opportunities identified by the audits.
- Provide reports for the Board Audit Committee, CEO and VP Finance as required.
- Interface with Thales S.A internal audit team from France to ensure audit optimisation and avoid resource duplication.
- Manage outsourced audit service providers (ie specialist IT audits)
- Follow-up audit findings

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE **QUALIFICATIONS**

Financial Audit degree (or equivalent)

**ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE**

Minimum 4 years previous experience with a large Audit firm. - Report writing and presentation experience.

Wide knowledge of business, not just finance specific.
