**About the Role**

We're seeking qualified **Environmental Consultants** to join our team. This role is diverse, with opportunities to work across environmental assessments, ranger program support, and community engagement. You’ll contribute to Caring for Country initiatives, compliance-based projects, and practical land management activities.

This is a field and office-based role involving travel across regional WA (and occasionally interstate). Work may include consulting with Traditional Owners, flora and fauna surveys, vegetation assessments, fire and land management, ranger training and mentoring, and supporting Aboriginal community-driven environmental outcomes.

Whether you’re a specialist (botanist, zoologist, or environmental generalist), have experience in compliance and approvals, or are early in your career and eager to grow, we’d love to hear from you. Leadership opportunities are available for experienced applicants.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Conduct environmental fieldwork, including flora and fauna identification, vegetation assessments, and targeted species surveys.
- Support ranger programs and capacity-building activities, including accredited training delivery (Cert IV Training & Assessing desirable).
- Assist with land management tasks such as weed control, feral animal management, revegetation, water monitoring, fire management, and ecological restoration.
- Develop culturally appropriate project plans and work alongside Traditional Owners to integrate Indigenous knowledge and values into environmental practices.
- Prepare reports, assessments, and recommendations in line with legislative and client requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Aboriginal communities, regulatory authorities, and stakeholders.
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary project teams (heritage, environment, GIS, community engagement).
- Ensure compliance with WA environmental and heritage legislation, EPA processes, and best-practice standards.
- (Senior applicants) Lead environmental projects, mentor junior staff, and contribute to business development and portfolio management.

**Selection Criteria**

**Essential**:

- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Ecology, Botany, Zoology, Conservation, or related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in flora/fauna identification and vegetation assessment.
- Experience working respectfully with Aboriginal communities, including in remote/regional settings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong report writing, research, and documentation skills.
- Willingness to travel and work in regional/remote areas (field trips up to 2 weeks).
- Current Australian driver’s licence (4WD desirable).
- Excellent interpersonal skills, Cultural awareness, and the ability to engage respectfully with Traditional Owners.
- First aid certification and remote fieldwork capability.
- Demonstrated understanding of WA legislations.
- Respect for Aboriginal cultural protocols and a commitment to collaborative decision-making.

**Desirable**:

- Experience supporting PBCs, Native Title claims, or joint ventures.
- Grant writing or community capacity-building experience.
- Experience with environmental approvals or multidisciplinary project teams.
- Bushfire planning/operations experie
