DPOs ensure that the judiciary, judicial support staff, court staff, practitioners, and other Court users are well-trained and effectively supported in adopting digital practices, enhancing the digital capabilities of both internal and external stakeholders. Acting as the primary point of contact for digital practices, DPOs deliver high-quality, responsive, and user-focused services, promoting the use of technology to streamline litigation processes.
Key responsibilities include identifying opportunities for improvement, leveraging technology to enhance efficiency, and supporting the Courts’ shift towards a more digitised, efficient work environment. DPOs will host workshops with stakeholders, using journey mapping and personas to document current processes and identify areas for improvement, and present findings in clear, actionable formats to guide future solutions.

Through discovery and engagement methods, DPOs will work to understand and address stakeholder needs, challenges, and opportunities, contributing to project delivery and implementing process improvements. This strategic role drives end-user adoption and engagement with digital practices, ensuring strong support and advocacy for the needs of all court users.

**Major Activities**
- Assisting chambers and courtroom support staff with the practical arrangements of digital litigation (electronic hearings, video-conferencing equipment, live streaming) such as conducting test calls, liaising with third party providers and proactively monitoring and maintaining records of digital practice issues and opportunities.
- Provide prompt and professional support, advice and training on digital practices to the judiciary, registrars, staff, the legal profession and other Court users, including the use of hardware and software.
- Coordinate and conduct local training sessions, including to the judiciary and for on-boarding new associates/court staff, and sharing knowledge and expertise to encourage skill development in relation to digital practices.
- Promote and develop digital practices in your location and provide a channel for the judiciary, staff, the legal profession and other Court users to raise improvements.
- Execute discovery and produce visual aids (journey maps, personas, swimlane diagrams and more) to help understand current processes, identify areas with opportunity and present findings in an easily digestible way.
- Validate and test proposed solutions, while raising user awareness and engagement based on best practice and industry standards.
- Use Human Centred Design (HCD) methodologies for the design and delivery of solutions, services, and process improvements.
- Advocate and assist in the seamless implementation of change including the preparation and development of user guides for existing and new digital practices and providing training on Court hardware / software.

**Selection Criteria**
- Well-developed skills to communicate effectively with the judiciary, chambers, staff, legal practitioners, and other external stakeholders including providing reasoning and argument to support change and gain audience support.
- Demonstrated ability to confidently promote, build and maintain effective internal and external working relationships including techniques to motivate others and implement change.
- Demonstrated ability to use specialist knowledge and expertise to address complex problems, to provide advice and training, and to identify solutions and opportunities in an often time
