Care With Excellence is a NDIS Registered Provider that prides itself in offering a flexible and individualised care service in home and community settings to people with disabilities, enabling them to live independently and to achieve their goals.
The role of a Mental Health Support Worker in Group Home is to provide support to our clients with a disability who require assistance with Medical Appointments, Transportation, Personal care, Domestic tasks such as Menu Planning, Cooking, Cleaning etc. With a strong focus on developing the skills of each individual to live as autonomously as possible within a shared living and one on one environment. Residents are supported each morning and afternoon, overnight and on weekends/Public Holidays by experienced and qualified staff.
We are looking for people who can provide practical and emotional help to others, calling on their own real-life experiences to build rapport and relationships. Your support will enable our clients to remain living independently and comfortably in their own homes/SIL, throughout the Western Sydney.
**The Opportunity**:

**About You**:
We require our Care Workers to be reliable, committed, and empathetic individuals to provide quality care as a Support Worker
We look for:
- A can-do attitude and genuine interest in helping others
- Extensive experience with manual handling and working with high intensity participants
- Various hobbies - sewing, arts, gardening, cooking, and scrap booking to name a few
- Experience in various outdoor pursuits and activities
- A practical understanding of hygiene assistance and commitment of care
- Enjoyment in social activities, and one-on-one engagement
- Understanding of physical limitations and a safe, sensible approach
- Creativity, enthusiasm, sensitivity, and emotional stability
- Strong communication and organisational skills - able to manage your time and support clients to do the same in an everyday capacity
- People who have some extra time and appreciate being with others
- Those who have strong work ethics and enjoy being team player
- Commitment to providing responsive and considerate care
- Prioritise punctuality and reliability
- Prioritise individual, family and guardian needs
**Qualifications**:
- Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care, Disability, Community Services or equivalent.
- Diploma in Mental Health (Preferred Not Essential)
**Mandatory requirements**
- First Aid Certification (required)
- National Police Certificate (required)
- Driver Licence (required)
- Working with Children Check (required)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (required)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module (required)

- Physically capable of meeting the requirements of the role
- Flexibility to work within a service that provides 24/7 care, this includes weekend work, sleepover and or active night shifts within a fortnightly roster.
- Competent with Microsoft Office suite particularly MS Word and MS Outlook.
- Covid 19 vaccination or the willingness to obtain before commencing employment
- Infection Prevention and Control for COVID-19 Certificate of Acknowledgement
Pre Employment Assessment with drug screen.
