**About the role**

EIC is in an enviable position to provide structural engineering design solutions to a variety of complex and challenging CIMIC Group projects.

EIC Activities is now looking across for a Design Manager of Structures projects to join our team based in Brisbane.

As part of the team, you will provide a competitive advantage in work winning and contribute to profitable projects that generate value for our clients, whilst leveraging the CIMIC Group’s collective experience, technical capabilities, and leading technologies.

In this role, you will lead engineering engagements, deliver solutions and provide technical guidance and leadership to the Structures Design Team. This includes:

- Managing the delivery of engineering solutions and analysis of complex bridge and underground structures, and staged construction engineering for heavy civils infrastructure and resources projects across Australasia and SE Asia for CIMIC group companies
- Oversee all tasks on projects where nominated as Project Manager, including leading effective client engagement, monitoring progress of design, reviewing design documentation for compliance and managing project budgets.
- Working directly with construction teams in delivery
- Drive innovative and alternative solutions to optimise designs for construction
- Lead the incorporation of innovative construction methods into projects and tenders
- Establishing strong structural design capability and leading the service offering
- Work with and support the stream Team Leaders to develop and plan capabilities, knowledge, skills and approaches to ensure that portfolio has the right people to deliver on its business plan

As a key member of the Structures Group you’ll support major transport, resource and building projects, by mitigating technical risks and identifying opportunities to create value.

**About you**

Ideally you will:

- Have 12+ years’ experience in the engineering consulting or construction industry, including at least 5 years at a senior or management level
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in the field of structural engineering
- Have prior experience in adapting technology to deliver outstanding results in structural engineering
- Be able to be innovative and propose creative solutions
- Have proven design co-ordination and management skills
- Have strong interpersonal and communications skills
- Have the ability to deliver high quality outcomes, be outcome driven, and self-motivated
- Have solid foundation experience in construction practices and structural engineering design
