Our group office in Southbank, Melbourne, is seeking an exceptional _Principal, Mergers & Acquisitions_. Reporting directly to the Head of Mergers and Acquisitions, this key position within our growth and projects group offers an outstanding opportunity to shape our future.

This role presents a unique opportunity for a passionate professional to guide our due diligence activities and contribute to our global success. With our demonstrable history of achievement, including the US$5.85 billion acquisition of the Las Bambas operation and the recent US$1.88 billion acquisition of the Khoemacau mine, you'll be part of a company that thinks big and delivers results.

As Principal, Mergers & Acquisitions, you will lead due diligence activities with precision and insight; provide informed and measured recommendations that drive our growth strategy; and collaborate with peers to deliver successfully on mergers and acquisitions, country entry, and divestment initiatives.

Working closely with MMG's business evaluation, technical, and commercial teams, you will spearhead the due diligence process for prospective development projects and operating assets. Your expertise will be instrumental in assessing and validating the operating potential and constraints of these exciting growth opportunities, ultimately producing well-informed recommendations for executive review.

We are seeking a professional with extensive experience and qualifications in a fundamental aspect of base metals mining (e.g., mine geology, minerals processing, mine development, or mining operations); deep knowledge of key principles in the mining lifecycle, including both underground and open pit operations; an objective and investigative mindset; a proven track record of continuous improvement; the ability to demonstrate technical excellence in base metals mining.
