**Your role**

The key responsibilities of Authorised Program Officers (APO) are defined by the Disability Act 2006 (the Act). As an APO with One Doorway, you will be responsible for ensuring that requirements for the use of regulated restrictive practises under section 135 of the Disability Act are met. The APO is required to **authorise the use of all regulated restrictive practices**.

As a Practice Advisor with One Doorway, you will be responsible for providing practice leadership across a range of services including Supported Living, Independent Supports and Respite, with overall responsibility of developing the practice capacity of all One Doorway Employees.

You will be a full-time member of the One Doorway team, supported by the General Manager.

**What we are looking for**
- A qualification in Disability (e.g., Cert 3 Individual Support), Social Work, Psychology, Community Development or Nursing
- Experience collaborating directly with people with disability who have complex and high support needs, particularly those who are in hospital, shared supported accommodation, residential aged care (RAC) and/or at risk of entry to RAC
- Experience working within the disability or health care sectors
- Experience working with Young People and/or Child Protection
- A working knowledge of the NDIS, its framework, structure, and practice
- Commitment to the rights of people with disabilities to live dignified lives
- Demonstrated capacity to engage with allied health and clinical care health staff
- Advanced critical thinking skills, including a pro-active approach to individual problems, through to systemic advocacy
- Experience in training and mentoring other professionals in the area of disability/health
- Able to accept responsibility and work as part of a team
- Demonstrated commitment to advocating within a human rights framework
- Patient, flexible, understanding, supportive and caring nature
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong computer, written and verbal communication skills

- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance issued in the State of Victoria
- Employee Working with Children Check card issued in the State of Victoria
- Full COVID vaccinations

**Additional information**
- In the interests of healthy rostering practices, allocation of on-call time will be spread as evenly as practicable amongst those required to participate in an on-call roster.
