Each year, we provide one in every three pathology services in Australia, extending from exclusively servicing some of Australia’s largest and most complex private and public hospitals to small and remote Australian Aboriginal communities.**About the role**
- We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate and engaged team. Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Collect samples (blood and non-blood) with care and attention
- Keep meticulous records for every patient and sample
- Prepare and package specimens for transport and testing
**About you**
- To be considered for this position, you will need to have a great blend of skills, including:
- Show a high level of empathy, communication, and customer service
- Strong time management, interpersonal and organisational skills
- A willingness and confidence to work independently in a solo clinic
- Vaccine preventable disease evidence such as Hepatitis B and COVID-19 are a requirement of this role
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge in Phlebotomy or a Certificate III in Pathology Collection would be advantageous

- Hurstville/ Campsie Areas- Laverty Pathology is a leading provider of the highest quality pathology and medical diagnostics services to doctors, specialists and hospitals throughout New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory. At Laverty Pathology, every specimen is a human life, and every employee has the ability to make a difference to people’s lives and improve people’s health.- We are currently seeking part time Pathology Collectors to join our team in Metro South & Sutherland Shire. This position is responsible for performing Venepunctures, ECG and Holter tests and other specimen collections as requested by referring practitioners.**As a Pathology Collector, a typical day will include the following duties**:
- Collection of blood and non-blood specimens from patients
- Collection of Nasal and Throat Swab for Covid-19 PCR Testing
- Attending to the care, storage, and processing of pathology specimens
- Attend to paperwork and associated clerical duties to ensure all details are correct in a timely manner
- Accurately record information relating to patients and specimens
- Compliance and adherence with Laverty Pathology policies and procedures, and Workplace Health and Safety procedures;
- Ensure the housekeeping and stock supplies at Collection centres is maintained to acceptable standards
- _Working alone and participating in weekend and rotating roster as well as out of hours roster in any of our collection centres._
**To be successful in this role, you will need**:
- Own car and valid Driver’s Licence is _essential_
- Basic computer skills and exceptional telephone manner is essential
- Ability to communicate effectively with Collections team, referring Doctors, Patients and other Stakeholders; both written and verbal
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding and dedication to patient care and service delivery standards
- Ability to demonstrate sound organisation skills and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritise and work under pressure
- Ability to understand and ensure compliance with WH&S policies and guidelines to maintain a safe and healthy workplace
