**Support Worker**
Disability support worker assists people in the community and in the home of participants with physical, intellectual and psychosocial disabilities. As a support worker, your aim is to improve the quality of life of participants by providing them with basic support requirements and finding ways to increase accessibility in their lives. The tasks performed for each client are as varied as each person’s particular needs.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Provide support for children (7 - 16 years) and adults (17 - 65 years) with complex disability and psycho-social support needs and complex mental health issues.
- Design, run and evaluate programs for clients with complex support needs, including on the Autism Spectrum Disorder, Schizophrenia and Acquired Brain Injuries, etc.
- Willing to undertake a range of day-to-day tasks including maintaining client records in our CRM database, assisting with meal preparation, administering medication and personal care.
- Administer medications in line with medication management plans.
- Support our clients to achieve their individual goals in line with their person-centred support plan.
- Support clients who are looking to join the workforce. Working closely with disadvantaged jobseekers using their counselling skills to assess non-vocational barriers to employment and develop suitable support plans to address such barriers.
- Provide community access to participants
- Ongoing evaluation, training, and review to ensure the delivery of quality services to clients, this included professional third party supervision.
- Work across other LSA sites when required
- Communicate in a clear, concise, and friendly manner with a broad range of people involved in the clients’ care, such as family & carers, staff, behavioural specialists & health care professionals.
- Willing to undertake a range of day-to-day tasks including maintaining client records in our CRM database.
**Skills and Qualifications**:
- 1+ years’ experience working as support worker within the NDIS field (desired)
- Hold up to date relevant checks such as WWCC, police check, NDIS workers screening check and first aid
- Hold a valid driver’s licence, access to own vehicle and comprehensive car insurance
- Certificate in Disability (desired, not required)
**Job Type**: Casual
Pay: $35.00 - $38.00 per hour
