**Support Services**

Our Support Services team provides a range of essential non-clinical services that help our hospitals run. We provide food services, central production kitchen, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services. The General Services team at Monash Medical Centre and Jessie McPherson Private Hospital is now looking for qualified Patient Services Assistants to join our lifting team who strive consistently to deliver high quality and efficient patient movement across the hospitals.

**Shifts available**:
**Position 1.**

Sunday - Thursday 4.30pm - 11.00pm

(60 hours per fortnight)

**Position 2.**

Week 1 - Tuesday and Saturday 7.30am - 4.00pm

Week 2 and 3 - Saturday 7.30am - 4.00pm

Week 4 - Friday and Saturday 7.30am - 4.00pm
- (24 hours per fortnight)_

**Position 3.**

Week 1 - Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 11.00pm - 7.00am

Week 2 - Thursday 11.00pm - 7.00am

**About the Role**

The role will provide a high quality, customer focused service to internal and external customers. Efficient communication and timely responses to requests for service are paramount for this position in achieving sustainable service delivery.
- Provide a friendly, courteous and professional greeting and support to all visitors/patients
- Compliance to relevant procedures and Occupational Health and Safety Requirements
- Contribute to achieving ward based outcomes as part of the Support Services Team
- Uphold and maintain patient confidentiality at all times
- Compliance of Monash Health policy and procedures for cleaning standard in daily operation

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Mortuary Transfers including Theatre
- Rolling of Bariatric patients for washing (assisting with rolling and not actual washing of patients)
- Assisting nursing staff when patient has fallen out of bed onto the floor
- Assisting nursing staff transferring patient in or out of bed - Hoist required
- Bed moves within ICU
- Bed moves from ICU to wards

**About You**

To ensure your success in this role, you will have a commitment to delivering excellent customer service, working effectively as part of a team and bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:

- Certificate III Health Services Assistant (Essential)
- Ability to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Great time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks
- Pride in your work with great attention to detail
- Ability to work with a cohesive team or individually to complete daily tasks
- Excellent understanding of patient identification procedures.
- Excellent understanding of infection control procedures
