**Role**:
The Student Wellbeing Officer works closely with our leadership team to meet the needs of students across the school. The Officer will provide a wide range of supports to students, staff and families.
The Student Wellbeing Officer position requires a demonstrated understanding of confidentiality, tact, couselling and communication skills. The Student Wellbeing Officer must be able to relate to and interact with a wide range of clients and service providers while maintaining client confidentiality with hte holistic wellbeing of the students as the prime focus of the position.
Provide mentorship volunteers who work in student wellbeing.
An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee's position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.

An education support class role at this range is distinguished by the introduction of:
- management responsibility and accountability for the delivery of services.
An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students but must not include duties of a teacher as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students can be required where it is an integral part of the employee¿s position or in circumstances where supervision is required individually or in groups up to 4 in controlled circumstances and where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.
Deviation from standard procedures and school policy will require guidance and direction from a senior manager.
The duties and responsibilities for the types of education support class work that can be expected at this level are set out below.
Distinguished from ES Level 1 Range 2 by the level of management responsibility for the work area that will have a greater impact on school administration and operations, and features supervision of other ES
Objectives and directions are clear, but there is a greater level of autonomy in determining the approach
Delivers care through various health, counselling, wellbeing and therapeutic services to a school
Contributes to policy development within the school
Facilitate individual or group programs for students
Lead the Wellbeing Team in an effective, professional manner
Working with disengaged students
Planning, organising and running programs to assist students in building positive skills
Provide Parent Support (including communication with parents/carers where relevant)
Keep accurate thorough written records of activities and client contact while maintaining security and confidentiality.
Provide wellbeing and counselling support to students across a wide range of issues.
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide the best outcomes for students and families
Liaising with leadership concerning all critical cases of student/staff wellbeing
Jointly develop well-being processes and policies to be consistently implemented by the Wellbeing Team
Administration
Liaise with Principals to undertake relevant staff professional development and training
Undertake other duties relevant to the field of responsibility as requested by the Principal or delegate
Comply with DET policies and procedures including all Child Safe Standards
Demonstrate the school¿s values daily
Maintain a healthy and safe working environment
Develop and improve administrative elements of school wellbeing
