Cornerstone College is in Mount Barker within the idyllic Adelaide Hills, which is a region undergoing significant growth. Cornerstone College maintains an important link with local Lutheran Schools including St Mark's, St Michael’s and Lobethal Lutheran Schools, together with their respective congregations.

Cornerstone College is a secondary school of the Lutheran Church of Australia. As such, leadership practices are guided by Lutheran Education Australia’s Growing deep framework. The successful applicant will lead the school in accordance with the 5 vocational practices. These practices include excellence in learning, ongoing improvement and innovation, strengthening Lutheran identity, community building and leading effective organisation and management.

In fitting with these practices, the successful applicant must be able to demonstrate they have:

- led change in a contemporary education environment;
- led day-to-day school operations, including the development of strong relationships with staff and students;
- worked collaboratively with the Board to revitalise and refine the strategy in line with the Board’s priorities;
- led spiritual development and wellbeing of staff and students;
- led strategic plan implementation;
- effectively communicated with a variety of stakeholders; and
- led with business acumen.
