**About the Business**

African Drumming is Australia's leading West African Music specialist - We share our passion and knowledge by leading hundreds of annual workshops, offering retreats in Ghana, Bali, Australia and NZ, and making our instruments in our St Kilda studio using traditional drum crafting methods.
We also manage our sister company Bashiri, importing art and handmade baskets from Ghana.

**About the Role**

We are a busy, dynamic and friendly team, looking for an operations manager with a focus on customer service and administration. A key element of the role is to ensure the communication within the business is maintained and in some aspects improved. The successful incumbent will build on our solid foundation as we take the next step in our journey. Operational efficiencies and excellence will be key elements of this leadership role.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Managing a small team including performance, recruitment, and training requirements
- Processing customer quotes and orders
- Maintain and/or develop current operation systems
- Internal and external stakeholder management
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.

**Desired Skills and Experience**
- Ability to juggle multiple competing priorities
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills
- Computer literate MS Office, Google Suite and webchat
- Strong people leadership skills

Previous experience in customer service, events or staff management role would be highly advantageous.

Remuneration: $80-90k + Super on a permanent full time basis depending on experience and qualifications.
