We are currently seeking a skilled and empathetic Disability Support Worker with proven experience in working with clients facing challenges such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, substance abuse, and rehabilitation.

Position: Disability Support Worker

Location: Brisbane south side

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide personalized care and support to clients with complex needs, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, substance abuse issues, and rehabilitation requirements.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and families to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's unique needs.
- Foster a supportive and nurturing environment that promotes well-being and empowerment.
- Offer emotional support, companionship, and encouragement to enhance social interaction and community engagement.
- Assist clients with medication management and adherence to prescribed treatment plans.
- Facilitate therapeutic activities and exercises to support rehabilitation and mental health management.
- Monitor clients' progress, behaviors, and any changes in their condition, documenting observations accurately.
- Employ crisis intervention strategies as needed to ensure client safety and emotional well-being.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Proven experience working with clients who have complex needs, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, substance abuse, and rehabilitation requirements.
- Relevant qualifications in Disability Support, Mental Health, Social Work, or a related field.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage effectively with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Empathetic and compassionate nature, capable of building trust and fostering a supportive rapport.
- Strong understanding of mental health, substance abuse, and rehabilitation principles and strategies.
- Ability to adapt to dynamic situations, think critically, and make well-informed decisions.
- Current Police Check, First Aid and CPR Certifications, and other relevant clearances.
