Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood has a collaborative maintenance contract with Seqwater to deliver leading maintenance services in the water industry. These projects cover South East Queensland across multiple locations.
Wood is currently recruiting for a Project Officer in Brisbane on a part time basis, working three days a week. You will be a key project team member, supporting the Project Manager with the successful delivery of one of our significant projects in the planning, procurement, pre-construction, delivery and commissioning phases.
**Responsibilities**:
- Manage the support and projects controls functions for an assigned major infrastructure project, including:
- Build capability and ensure compliance with records and processes, including the use of Project Document Management Systems
- Cost Control, including reviewing invoices, tracking and reporting expenditure and budget performance as well as manage routine procurement activities
- Liaise with discipline leads to provide input data, review data and generate scheduling reports,
- Coordinate project team members task assignments and outcomes reporting
- Maintain risk registers and coordinating risk reviews
- Coordinate land access and permits associated with field activities
- Coordinate and report project change including preparing and/or collating project change requests
- Contract administration and coordination of low risk contracts as well as maintaining, preparing and collating variations made to the contracts
- Author and review reports, presentations, and correspondence related to the project, including documents of a technical nature
- Manage site-based facilities, including access, services coordination and personnel rosters
- Coordinate project related meetings/briefings/workshops with both internal and external participants, including preparation of documents, coordination of attendees and recording of minutes
- Contribute to the culture of continuous improvement and efficiency within the Major Projects group, by identifying opportunities to improve processes and procedures
- Coordinate project team input into the preparation of tender supporting documents including technical documentation, scope of works and specifications
- Observe and comply with all Seqwater Work Health and Safety Standards and practices, Quality Management System Procedures, Water Quality and Environmental Management Systems and Contractor Management procedures
- In all duties, comply with the behavioural expectations set out in the way we work (Seqwater’s Code of Conduct), and our policies, procedures and any Seqwater Major Projects operating manual or procedure
Skills / Qualifications:
- Project Management, Engineering or relevant technical qualifications (Tertiary or advanced Diploma level)
- Minimum 5 years work experience in a complex project environment (experience within water industry and Queensland Government infrastructure will be highly regarded)
- Class C Driver’s Licence
- Construction Industry White Card
- Demonstrated experience working in or knowledge of engineering/construction projects
**Personal attributes**:
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple and competing priorities
- Highly developed verbal communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise, influence and negotiate with key stakeholders, external and internal clients, team members, regulatory authorities and consultation groups
- Highly developed written communication and computer literacy skills including project management systems, resource scheduling (eg MS Project/Primevera) and MS Suite
- Proven achievement or ability in working with multi-disciplinary teams, consultants and contractors to achieve corporate goals and project objectives
- Sound knowledge and/or experience of the principles and processes involved in managing the successful delivery of projects and work packages
- Sound knowledge of contract management, quality assurance, environmental management and workplace health and safety management related to infrastructure projects
- Sound understanding of construction works and ability to work on a remote and/or construction site
- Demonstrated capability in using Records Management System (HP Content Manager) and/or Project Document Management Systems (TeamBinder or similar
