Over the past 20 years we have trained over 30,000 professionals, developed hundreds of templates and edited millions of words for more than 400 organisations. Our editors have used their expertise on many influential projects for an extensive range of government and private clients.
Did you know that online engagement across government and business has risen significantly in the last 2 years, increasing the need for clarity? We are growing and are searching for an experienced Managing Editor to join our team permanently.
As
**Managing Editor, **you will be supported by a team of 4 editors and oversee our range of editing products. You will have:
- at least 5 years’ experience in editing
- exceptional plain English communication skills, both spoken and written
- demonstrated experience leading a team
- a solid track record in client account management in the corporate or government sector
- understanding and experience of the government and corporate sectors
- high competency in MS Office, CRM and other system software, and general digital literacy
- excellent time management and project management skills
- a university degree with relevant qualifications.
Your key duties will be:
- managing business development for editing services, including handling enquiries, fostering sales, scoping projects, preparing quotes and contracts and reviewing service costs
- overseeing the delivery of editing services, including directing projects, scheduling a complex workflow, doing quality assurance, and analysing project costs and results
- overseeing team HR, including recruitment, induction, mentoring and performance
- contributing to communications projects, including business collateral, marketing materials and website content
- co-developing digital products and CRMs with executives and other managers, moving from design, development and consultant management to launch, sales and ongoing administration
- reporting on editing services and other team activity, including formal written reports
- using, maintaining and improving in-house business systems, records and logs
- maintaining in-house templates, style and standards.
