As an Auditor in our Governance, Risk and Assurance Team, you are obsessed with continuous improvement and stakeholder relationships, and are inquisitive and curious by nature. You love the opportunity to compare what we do against what is happening in other organisations, and how we can always be moving forward.

This role revolves around planning and undertaking operational, information technology, financial and compliance audits, and special projects across the Department of Customer Service cluster. You will do this through engaging with all parts of the business and leaning into your relationship building skills. Everything we do as a team has a strong focus on the customer experience and how we can turn “pain points” into opportunities - remembering always that we are our own customers as the people of NSW.

You will work closely with very diverse stakeholders to gain insight into the business at all levels and will be a trusted Advisor for expert advice on governance and compliance standards. The work the team undertakes is as diverse as our team and the people of NSW, reflecting our values at every level. - Tertiary qualifications in commerce, finance, accounting, or a related discipline
- Professional membership with Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or _currently working towards one of these qualifications_
- Strong audit experience in a Big-4 or similar organisation or experience performing operational audits, compliance reviews and assurance work
- Knowledge of relevant professional accounting and auditing standards and an understanding of government policies, procedures, legislative and regulatory frameworks
- Ability to partner with key stakeholders to achieve a common goal
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Ability to present information in a simplified, concise, and relatable format both verbally and in writing, and
- Demonstrated experience in using audit management systems and tools

**What will your day involve?**
- Supporting managers and senior leaders across the business to improve governance, risk management and control processes
- Planning and conducting concurrent operational audits, compliance reviews, and assurance work with various teams across the cluster
- Presenting findings and influencing senior managers across their audit performance
- Contributing to the preparation of engagements Terms of References and Audit Reports, and
- Providing input and advice to develop the audit plan and to support the cluster's Audit and Risk Committees.
