We are currently seeking compassionate Personal Care Workers skilled in sign language and the Braille alphabet to support clients with visual and hearing impairments in Rivervale and surrounding areas. Shifts are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays as part of our commitment to providing unique care to meet diverse client needs. This is a meaningful opportunity to use your unique skills to make a real difference. **Our Mission**: "To improve the quality of life for those we serve." **About the Role**: As a Personal Care Worker, you’ll provide personalised, client-centred care to visually and hearing-impaired clients, with a specific focus on using sign language and Braille to enhance communication and support independence. You will assist clients with daily living activities, providing companionship and tailored support in a positive, respectful environment. **Key Responsibilities**: - Use sign language and Braille to communicate effectively with clients who have visual and hearing impairments. - Provide personal care and companionship according to each client’s tailored care plan. - Assist with daily activities, including personal hygiene, toileting, nutrition, and mobility, to support independence. - Maintain a safe and comfortable home environment by assisting with light housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation. - Keep accurate daily notes on client progress and promptly report any concerns to the RN/Care Manager. - Work closely with Registered Nurses and the care team to ensure high-quality, holistic care that respects each client’s unique needs. **Why Join Us?** - Work with a diverse group of clients in a supportive, team-oriented environment. - Competitive pay: $43/hr for Cert III holders + $0.99/km for travel. - Flexible shifts and opportunities for professional growth. **Qualifications**: - Cert III in Aged Care/Disability (or equivalent). - Current Senior First Aid [HLTAID011], CPR [HLTAID009], and Manual Handling [HLTWHS005] (minimum 3 months validity). - Reliable and insured vehicle with a current driver’s licence. - NDIS Screening. - Willingness to travel and flexible availability. - Strong communication skills and empathy for elderly and disabled clients. - Familiarity with home care standards and safety protocols. **Preferred Skills**: - Understanding of person-centred care. - Teaching or educational background. - Multilingual abilities are a bonus We'd love to hear from you if you’re passionate about using your unique skills in sign language and Braille to provide exceptional care.
