Environmental Advisor

Gold Coast Light Rail has transformed public transport on the Gold Coast, helping create an integrated network that connects more people to more places in one of Australia's most dynamic and fastest growing cities.

John Holland is GoldlinQ's nominated design and construction contractor for GCLR3, to extend the existing light rail network 6.7kms from Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads, including eight new light rail stations, two new light-rail bus connections, and intersection upgrades along the alignment.

Jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments, and the City of Gold Coast, this city-shaping project will link communities to business centres, shopping, dining, education and medical facilities and cater to the Gold Coast's expected population growth in the coming decades.

As construction of GCLR3 gets underway, John Holland is actively recruiting for a talented and driven Environmental Advisor to join our team and play a key role in the successful delivery of this iconic Gold Coast project.

**Responsibilities of the role include**:

- Provide environmental guidance, diligence and consistency to internal stakeholders
- Provide advice and input into the identification and effective management of environmental risks
- Support the implementation and ongoing management of project environmental management systems
- Support the communication of environment matters to management and project staff
- Contribute to the maintenance of comprehensive environment records
- Identify and initiate localised environment improvement initiatives
- Liaise with government bodies and professional organisations on environmental matters as required
- Influence a positive Environmental culture across the project and John Holland

**To be successful in this key role, you must have**:

- A Bachelors Degree in Environmental Engineering, Science, Sustainability or similar
- Previous exposure to construction practices, techniques and tools
- A working knowledge of relevant legal & regulatory environmental requirements
- Previous experience/exposure to low level incident investigations
- Knowledge of reporting, auditing and risk management obligations
