**Your new role**
The Return-to-Work Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the health and safety of our workers across Hays SA metro and regional areas. It presents an exciting opportunity to be an integral member of the national team, ensuring compliance to company, state, and national WH&S recommendations. Responsibilities will include
- Ensuring that work related injuries are reported to the insurer within 48 hours after being informed of an injury
- Notify the NIM, local Health and Safety team and Regional Director of a reported injury
- Ensure that contact is made with an injured worker, within 24 hours of notification of injury, and where it is practicable to do so, attend the initial or subsequent medical appointment with the worker to facilitate an early return to work on suitable duties
- Actively source the provision of suitable duties for temporary workers with restricted work capacity
- Reduce the impact of workplace injuries on affected workers
- Engage with an injured workers Manager, treatment providers and the insurer to achieve a sustainable return to work as soon as possible through the promotion of suitable duties
- Develop Return to Work (RTW) Plans (FM-632) for workers on suitable duties, including consent of treating doctors and the worker. Update each RTW plan to ensure a graduated increase in duties
- Contact treatment providers prior to medical reviews in order to promote a sustainable reduction in restrictions to achieve a return to pre-injury duties
- Ensure wage reimbursement schedules are submitted to the insurer by the last day of each month
- Ensure compliance to the Procedure for Injury Management and Return to Work
**What you'll need to succeed**
Suitable applicants will possess a minimum of 12 months experience as a Return-to-Work Coordinator or Claims Manager with a workers’ compensation insurer or multi jurisdiction employer and a strong knowledge of injury management and workers’ compensation legislation. Additionally, you will have a proven track record in improving RTW outcomes, possess excellent interpersonal skills and be outcome focused. Please note a current drivers’ licence is essential for this position.
