Are you ready for an exhilarating challenge in paediatric and neonatal retrieval medicine? SA Ambulance are seeking a dynamic and skilled medical professional for the position of SAAS MedSTAR Paediatric Retrieval Consultant (PRC).

You will bring extensive experience in paediatric and neonatal medicine including experience in one or more specialist departments: NICU, PICU, Paediatric Anaesthetics or Paediatric ED. Experience in Paediatric or Neonatal Retrieval Medicine is essential. Your exceptional clinical skills, critical thinking, and ability to remain calm under pressure will be invaluable assets. A valid driver's licence is a requirement, training in emergency driving skills is available.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Participate in the Paediatric Retrieval and Clinical Coordination roster, collaborating across teams.
- Ensure appropriate patient destinations and critical care bed availability.
- Provide expert clinical advice to referring agencies and retrieval teams.
- Develop and implement state-wide retrieval policies and procedures.
- Leverage technology for efficient clinical coordination.
- Optimise resource allocation through problem-solving approaches.
- Rotate through operational retrieval and clinical coordination shifts, including day shifts, night shifts and on-call duties.
- Stabilise and transport critically ill/injured patients in pre-hospital settings.
- Mentor less experienced staff during complex retrievals.
