We are currently partnered with a market leading insurer who are looking to add a Motor Underwriter to their growing team. This business provides a great workplace environment where staff retention is high.

**The Role**

As an underwriter you will provide superior market facing underwriting through the successful management of the companies renewal portfolio for Motor vehicles.

The role will be partnered with the commercial team locally to achieve market leading broker experiences and a profitable growth.

**Duties**:

- Ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines, procedures and authority levels
- Measure exposure & analyse risk
- Determine technical price according to certified/agreed pricing process
- Provide technical advice and guidance, mentoring and training within the team
- Quoting & setting coverage
- Negotiate terms & conditions
- Contribute to managing accounts
- Build relationships in support of customer/business acquisition and retention
- Implementing agreed technical standards, controls, practices and procedures, thereby maintaining underwriting discipline
- Proactively supports development of self and others
- Undertake peer reviews

**Skills and experience**:

- 5 years industry experience in Motor Underwriting preferably in fleet
- Keen interest in technical pricing
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to analyse problems and prioritise your workload
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Ability to drive results and maintain productive working relationships
