Secondary English Teacher

Yeshivah - Beth Rivkah Schools Limited are an Independent School based in St Kilda East in Melbourne and is comprised of two Primary and two Secondary Schools, an Early Learning Centre and a Creche.

Our Girls' Primary School is currently looking for an exceptional Secondary English Teacher. This is a **permanent, part-time** position.

**Responsibilities and Requirements**:

- Planning and implementation of a curriculum of teaching programs or courses of study using a range of teaching techniques and materials
- Planning, implementing and marking a variety of assessment tasks to monitor students’ progress
- Implementation of strategies to achieve targets related to student learning outcomes
- Maintenance of records of class attendance and recording of student progress
- Liaison with students and parents
- Implementation of effective student management strategies consistent with the school’s behaviour management plan
- Attendance at regular staff and curriculum planning meetings
- Provide supervision of students during recess, as timetabled
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment and develop positive relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider school community

**About you**:

- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in lower primary general studies curriculum content, current curriculum approaches and teaching practices
- Passionate about teaching and working with children
- Resilience, empathy and patience in their approach to teaching
- Excellent communication skills, classroom management and flexible on tailoring to varying student needs

**Qualification requirements**:

- Tertiary qualifications in Education (Bachelor degree or higher)
- Current VIT registration
