**About the role**:
Fender Geophysics is seeking a skilled and motivated Hydrogeologist to join our dynamic team. In this engaging role, you will be responsible for conducting groundwater-related investigations and supporting subsurface survey projects across Australia. This role involves data acquisition, analysis, and reporting related to groundwater quality, aquifer properties, and geotechnical site conditions, with a focus on supporting geophysical and environmental studies in the mining, construction, and infrastructure sectors.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Collect, manage, and interpret groundwater, geological, and geophysical data using manual and automated instrumentation.
- Analyse water quality, geological, and hydrological data to support groundwater modelling and resource assessments.
- Prepare technical reports, maps, and groundwater models in compliance with environmental and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with geophysicists, environmental scientists, and engineering teams to support integrated survey projects.
- Contribute to field project planning, including site assessments and logistics, particularly in remote and regional locations.
- Maintain and calibrate hydrogeological instrumentation and ensure quality control in field processes.
- Support environmental compliance reporting and client communications.
- Train junior staff in sampling methods, safety procedures, and data protocols where required.
**Essential Skills and Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 1-2 years of post-qualification experience in hydrogeological investigations or groundwater studies.
- Proficiency in data interpretation software such as AquiferTest, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, or MODFLOW.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct field-based hydrogeological assessments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in technical reporting and client liaison
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to regional project locations.
**Desirable Skills and Experience**:
- Experience working in geophysical survey teams or supporting environmental/geotechnical site investigations.
- Familiarity with remote fieldwork conditions and strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $85,000.04 - $95,000.09 per year
