**Role Overview**
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and motivated individual to join our team as a Support Worker. As a Support Worker, you will provide high-quality, person-centered care to individuals who require assistance with a range of activities. You will work closely with our clients to understand their needs, promote their independence, and ensure their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being. The role of a Support Worker is both rewarding and challenging, offering the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of those you support.

**Key Responsibilities**
The main duties of the Support Worker will include, but are not limited to:

- **Providing Personal Care**: Assisting individuals with their personal care needs, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, while maintaining their dignity and privacy.
- **Supporting with Daily Activities**: Helping clients with daily tasks such as meal preparation, household chores, shopping, and managing appointments.
- **Promoting Independence**: Encouraging and supporting clients to engage in activities that foster independence, self-esteem, and autonomy. You will work collaboratively with clients to set personal goals and support them in achieving them.
- **Emotional and Social Support**: Offering companionship and emotional support to clients, assisting them in building social networks, and promoting social inclusion. This may include engaging in hobbies, going out for walks, or participating in community activities.
- **Health and Well-being**: Assisting clients with medication management, health monitoring, and liaising with healthcare professionals when necessary. Ensuring that clients maintain a healthy lifestyle and are supported in managing any specific health conditions.
- **Adhering to Policies and Procedures**: Ensuring that all care is provided in accordance with legal, ethical, and company guidelines. This includes safeguarding practices and ensuring that the safety and well-being of clients are always prioritized.

**Key Skills and Experience**
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualities:

- **Compassionate and Caring**: You must have a genuine desire to help others, demonstrating empathy, patience, and respect for the individuals you support.
- **Good Communication Skills**: The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, families, and team members is essential. You will need to be an active listener and be able to adjust your communication style to meet the needs of individuals with varying levels of communication abilities.
- **Team Player**: The ability to work as part of a team is crucial. You will collaborate with colleagues, healthcare professionals, and families to ensure clients receive the best possible care and support.
- **Adaptability and Flexibility**: No two days are the same in the role of a Support Worker. You should be able to adapt quickly to changing circumstances and respond effectively to challenges.
- **Resilience**: The role can be demanding, and you will need to remain calm and positive in difficult situations. You will be working with individuals who may have complex needs, and a resilient and solution-focused attitude is required.
- **Experience**: Experience in a similar role or within the social care sector is desirable, but not essential. Cert III in Aged Care.
- **Organizational Skills**: You should be able to manage your time effectively, prioritize tasks, and maintain accurate records while remaining responsive to the needs of your clients.
- **Driving License**: A full driving license may be required for some roles, depending on the location and client requirements.
