**Description of Job**:
**Job Title**:Disability support worker (primarily Clients with Autism).

**Job Type**:Contract/Subcontract

**Role overview**:
We are seeking empathetic, Dedicated Disability Support Workers with a special focus towards aiding those with ASD. In this role you will work closely with individuals with ASD, promoting their autonomy, fostering social connections, and encouraging active participation within their community. You will be providing personalised support tailored to each client’s specific needs, enhancing their quality of life, and helping them reach their full potential.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Provide individualized support to clients with ASD in their daily activities, promoting self-reliance, confidence, and independence.
- Implement personalized care plans to meet each client’s unique needs and goals.
- Assist clients in social engagement, community participation, and other recreational activities.
- Employ strategies to support and manage challenging behaviour while ensuring the safety and well-being of clients.
- Collaborate with family members, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
- Maintain regular documentation of client progress and any significant changes to behaviour or health.

**Qualifications & experiences**:

- A certificate III or IV in disability care, community services, or a related field & or equivalent life experience is preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder.
- Knowledge of strategies for supporting individuals with ASD.
- Current valid first aid and CPR training.
- Working with Children Check and National Police Check.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

- A strong understanding and empathy for the challenges that are faced by individuals with ASD.
- Ability to work independently, and as part of a team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Patience, resilience, a positive solution-focused mindset, you must have A willingness to learn and grow and keep an open mind.
- Flexibility in working hours is preferred to meet the needs of clients.

**Job Types**: Subcontract, Casual

**Salary**: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
