About the Role

Our Field Services Team is looking for a Field Quality and Support Technician to join them focusing on the Sydney and Brisbane regions. You will undertake technical review and quality assurance activities relating to residential solar installations along with monitoring contractor performance and quality.

To be successful in the role you’ll be experienced in solar and battery installations with the ability to inspect and identify that works and equipment/materials used comply with relevant standards, manufacturer recommendations and internal quality requirements. You will be confident in the use of computer-based programs to manage workflow, data entry and capturing audit information such as photos.

We have multiple requirements for fulltime and/or 12 month fixed term positions to be based out of Sydney and Brisbane.

What you’ll be doing:
- Provide expert technical support to ensure that AGL’s external contractors are delivering efficient residential solar and battery installations to the highest quality and safety standards.- Provide trouble shooting of installation issues based on well-developed product knowledge and installation experience- Contribute to on-going installation improvement in terms of safety, quality, consistency, delivery time, and cost reduction- Review and assess desktop site/system condition/fault and installation reports for compliance with Australian Standards, relevant regulations and AGL quality and scope requirements- Monitor, assess, report and support customer reported faults and issues across solar, battery and related products and equipment. Track and report defects and audit non-compliances, follow-up with installers to close-out corrective actions. Assist with manufacturer RMA processes- Attend sites and perform audits on installations or rectification works to monitor and improve consistency of workmanship and compliance with Australian Standards, AGL quality requirements and AGL HSE assurance obligations.- Provide support to customers and installers for remediation of any damage that occurs during installations, investigate causes and options for speedy correction

About You

A licenced A-grade Electrician with previous solar/battery installation experience you are looking to progress your career into a project role within the dynamic growth sector of new energy technologies.

What you’ll bring to the table:
- Current Electrical licence (A Grade) with experience in residential and commercial electrical installations (residential and/or commercial solar PV projects, battery storage, electro-technology or similar)- CEC accreditation and hands-on experience with design and installation of grid-connected solar systems is mandatory- Accreditation for, and experience with, grid-connected battery storage is highly desirable, but not mandatory- Experience with the design and delivery of residential and/or commercial solar PV projects, battery storage, electro-technology, Electric Vehicle Charging or similar- Demonstrated field services support experience within the energy system industry and product knowledge- Up to date knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, such as AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 4777, AS/NZS 5033, AS/NZS 5139- The ability to tailor your communication style effectively between site and corporate environments, building rapport and respect with peers, customers and vendors- A broad understanding of legal and compliance principles in each Distribution Networks environment; e.g. DNSP network connection requirements- Effective written skills and computer literacy to support operations (MS Office, online field force tools, workflow management platforms, etc)- Valid car driver’s licence essential
