**More about the role**
Reporting to the General Manager - People & Culture, your role as Safety and Compliance Officer, will provide effective safety support and drive a positive safety culture across all our business departments with a specific focus on warehousing and transport areas, ensuring compliance across the business.
The role will incorporate the following responsibilities:
- Manage on site safety inductions for new employees
- Maintain current incident, injury and hazard reporting in our Compliance Software (Mango)
- Analyse incidents, injuries and hazards, prepare reports, identify trends and make recommendations for improvement
- Complete incident investigations and propose corrective actions
- Complete workplace safety inspections and risk assessments
- Participate in internal and external audit ensuring compliance is maintained and implement any correct actions
- Maintain our ISO Accreditation in Safety, Quality and Environment
- Deliver safety related training as required including Toolbox Talks
- Chair the National WHS Committee
- Maintain emergency procedures and emergency personnel for all locations
- Oversee that inspections are completed for all warehouse equipment and on-road vehicles
- Review WHS policies in accordance with legislation updates and communicate these changes to all stakeholders of the business
- Proactively manage workers compensation claims, liaising with treating doctors, insurance companies and rehabilitation providers, to ensure the injured workers return to work
**More about you**
- Minimum Certificate IV in WHS or equivalent
- Lead Auditor experience
- Previous employment experience in a similar role
- Working knowledge of Work Health and Safety policies, practices and legislation
- Exposure to warehousing and transport environments
- Previous Injury Management and Return to Work Coordination experience
- Previous exposure to ISO auditing processes
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, with excellent organisational skills including the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Ability to travel interstate as required
